The version of this song in the All Good Things box set is a previously unreleased take from the recording sessions for the 1974 Jerry Garcia solo album, Garcia (Compliments).
Originally recorded by Jimmy McCracklin in 1965 and released on the Imperial label. Subsequently he recorded the song in the early 1970s for Stax.

A few recording credit just McCracklin as the writer. The majority of recordings credit McCracklin and Deadric Malone. The Jerry Garcia releases credit McCracklin and Robey. This refers to Don Robey. Deadric Malone = Don Robey.
